Yay- they look great. I can’t tell which is DC but it is clearly the healthier and better one lol (j/k)

So fun - I am telling you, these palms are magical. They will bring you joy.

Clearly, the taller one is you, DC. Clearly, the cuter one is me. And yes, you're probably the healthier one, but I'm twice your age so health is irrelevant until you reach my age. May the odds be ever in your favor, ya jerk.

Well, I planted DC and WW on 26th April and took their pics for posterity but internet problems have stopped me uploading until now.

DC:

WW:

They both have a companion plant of Mexican Petunias - ground that has been prepared for growing is too precious to only have 1 plant in a hole!

Hi WW. Yep, each hole has at least 1 piece of PVC pipe (75cm) that goes to the bottom of the hole where there is a 10cm layer of scoria - it helps to make sure water is getting right down in there while the plants establish.

I think it'll depend on size/age of tree, and how much damage is going on. Older trees with a lot of leaves, probably best to just leave it alone and not worry about it. If you are willing to spray, I've read the go to is spinosad. Not sure if BtK will do the trick, or neem/horticultural oils. If the tree is small, you can manually just pop the leaf miners, too, catch them early.

Here's an interesting article for you by some master gardener with experience in citrus: Don't spray for citrus leafminers - Greg Alder's Yard Posts: Food Gardening in Southern California

Sorry for taking a detour off topic, hopefully this is helpful

Thanks Kvet, interesting article. Unfortunately all my citrus trees (9 in total) are young trees with very little growth, and nearly every leaf has been got at
I'd sprayed all the new leaves with Kaolin solution as sun protection and hoped that that might help but no joy.
Very limited range of chemicals here, the EU has banned some of the ones used in the US.
I'm going to try squashing the leaf miner grubs by hand, hopefully reduce future numbers.
