Exclamation Possible Importation of Terrestrial Orchids from Europe.

Hi, everybody. Thanks to Blooming Aussie's recommendation, and in response to the shutting down of exportation of orchids from Australia, as well as having a couple of people expressing some interest - I have contacted Dr. Heinrich Beyrle for a possible group order of terrestrial orchids.

The excellent news is:

1. He does export to the US.

2. The fees for shipping, CITES, and phytosanitary papers are extremely reasonable.

However...

Each plant is numerically priced at average prices for orchids that many Americans are accustomed to seeing for blooming sized plants - except the currency is in Euros.

Which means...

1. You must take into consideration the current currency exchange rates between the USD and the Euro.

*** currently the exchange rate is: 1 Euro = 1.22 USD ***

2. While you get more bang for your buck in terms of shipping, CITES, and phytosanitary costs, it may be more difficult to order large quantities of plants.

If anybody is interested, the price list is on Dr. Beyrle's website at:

www.myorchids.de

Anybody interested may send me a pm and we'll start organizing the order, then take it from there.

For one shipment, the cost of CITES, phyto, and shipping comes out to be 38 Euros total.

Currently, 38 Euros = approx $46.69 USD.

So far, there are 3, maybe 4, people involved (this number includes me). The 4th person is a fairly strong candidate.

Note: The entire group of people involved in this endeavor chip in for a total of 38 Euros.

Each person does not pay 38 Euros.

Each person ONLY pays a FRACTION of 38 Euros.

Default Ordering Terrestrial Orchids from Dr. Beyrle (Germany)

I'm about ready to put in a group order for terrestrial orchids for importation from Germany. The source is Dr. Heinrich Beyrle (www.myorchids.de).

So far, there are 4 people who are for certain involved in the group order, and 1 other person who may or may not join in.

The shipping and handling, CITES, and phytosanitary fees are extremely reasonable, particularly for a group order.

If anybody is interested, please pm me. After I finalize this current order, it might be a while before I consider another group importation endeavor from Dr. Beyrle.

Thank you for looking.
