My growing spaces. Male
Default My growing spaces.

Well, a significant amount of orchids have been added and arranged to warrant some new pics, so I went and took a few to share with you all.

Here is what was previously my closet that contained everything, and is now devoted solely to Phals (I may add one or two Angraecoids ) Now that everything else is in the other stand, I have a whole level for more Phals!

Here is the left side with the standards and Ten Shin newbies.

The middle with some of the oldies. (My JIG (formerly Penang Girl) is my first and oldest novelty, I've had it for just over one year)

Here is the right side with some others plus my three mounted phals. The little lobbii is hiding between the violacea and bellina.

Here is my Tying Shin NoID about to bloom.

My fist Phal kieki on a NoID.

My JIG (formerly PG) with two spikes developing!

And a close up of the bud!

---------- Post added at 05:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:15 PM ----------

Here is my everything else stand that me and my Dad built!

The left side with some mounts, my Bulbos, and some smaller Catts.

The center with more Catts and other light loving creatures.

The right side with some of my bigger 'chids.

My Oncidium Gold Dust with 10 buds on its first blooming.

And my little NoID Tolumnia blooming with WAY more colour this time around! (Not as evident as the picture was taken under the lights)

WOW Cody! Very nice!!

I remember when you first posted pics of your growing closet. Even with the bottom shelf cleared for your new acquisitions its really filled in. And the new grow shelf is totally full already!!
Have you begun discussions with your parents what space or room your going to take over next?

Thanks!!! Yeah, I've already planned out what is going to happen. The newest stand is going to get a second level added to the top for all phals, and my mini greenhouse is going to get lights and go under the stairs for Phal flasks, compots, and seedlings.

Looks great!! And plenty more space for Phals!
Why is that Phal a 'former Penang Girl'?

Wow, just wow... I'm so very jealous of you for having such a nice growing space. Your Phals look very happy indeed.

I just realized that I have several closets as well...

Long story short, even though its labelled as PG (vio x venosa), the characteristics of the flowers is obviously that of a JIG (bellina x venosa). It's easy to see why this happened, as there are still some out there who have bellina labelled as violacea var. borneo.
