Hello all...I have been following the Nano-viv discussion for a while and was wondering if there would be any interest in doing something along the lines of setting up a terrarium with plants grown on terracotta in an enclosed space...
I was thinking we could set some parameters, perhaps ask Jesse if he would be willing to design some terracotta tubes for us, look at various pleurothallids for candidates (I am thinking perhaps we should say 3 plants that we all get (though in the interest of everyone participating, perhaps we could just agree to "agree" on three genus within the pleurothallis alliance, and leave the species within each to the decision of each individual participating...ie if we decide that we will be using Pleurothallis, Zootriphion and Stelis, each participant can decide on their own which species of each they will be using, so long as they stick to the genus' we decide upon...), and leave the rest to each person's judgement) and go from there.

Just seeing if there is any interest at this point, but I am thinking that we should shoot for using a 10 gallon aquarium for our "case" as these are readliy available most everywhere (in the US--though I remember this being a common size when I lived in Japan as well, so I'd guess there might be follow-through elsewhere in the world); and then decide whether we want to do a "tower" of plants or a "log" of plants...

Anyways, as I said, I am just in brainstorm mode at this time...

Thoughts? Ideas?

Adam

Hi Adam

This one isn't something that I'd be interested in but just wanted to say I'd be available for any help you need to get the project put together.

Keep in mind, most folks won't be ordering chids till Spring

Let me know if you need me

Thanks Sue! I thought it would be a good idea to get a ball rolling...I know that most ppl won't be ordering until spring, but several of us will be going to shows between now and then, so we can gather some ideas/info...and if we do decide to explore further with Jesse, he will need ample time to come up with a design for us (he told me he's been swamped with orders as of late...which is great for him!)...besides...April is just 4 long (and one short) months away
