Here's mine ssp. deliciosa; the new leaf is growing quite nicely!

The ssp. hookeriana developed a case of leaf rot and I think it may have spread to the crown; we'll see...

I really like Popow. He's super reactive to mails and packaging is always top notch.

On top of that he has quality plants, including very unusual stuff!

hey guys, well, hmmm....

ill focus on the deliciosa for now and at least compare them. perhaps if we go thru popow again ill post a review on the proper sub.

so one of them obviously has spikes, and it’s clear it has flowered at least once before. after really close inspection the other has not appeared to have flowered yet. the leaves on the one in flower are at least a couple cm’s longer than the other, tho i haven’t measured or averaged, but its pretty clear. my best guess is that one was in the center/bright location and one was growing off to the side or something. and at this point i am assuming they are actually the same species.

for those who have gone thru popow before, is it normal to not include id tags? anywho....

so i want to take one for s/h and was thinking of mounting the other or just putting it in regular mix. might leave the one with spikes till it’s done flowering, but not sure yet....

they seem pretty healthy, so i don’t wanna be to down on them just yet! hahahah, but i need to get some cork or something if i wanna mount one, so hopefully can settle in a bit first

I think he delivers throughout the EU. I have gotten a few things from him, great plants but shipping happened when he came to the US (meaning a long wait from order to delivery, or figuring out what shows he was going to visit) - so that has been a no-go for a very long time for me.

They do deliver to Spain. Though sadly I find the orchid part of their catalogue to be much smaller than it was 5-10 years ago (they now have jumped on the overpriced aroids bandwagon) and he doesn't seem to sell much on ebay any more, which is where I got the best plants from him.

Sorry to have continued the hijacking of this thread!

While it's true that his business branched on the houseplants trend (and that his eBay isn't up to date), he still offers some very valuable plants.

A few weeks ago he had very rare Paph and Phrag, including plants from great breeding lines.
Definitely a shop worth checking out from time to time if Cypripedioideae are your cup of tea!

Thread hijacked hahaha

Last comment on the Popow subject; he does delivery to Spain however the web is only in German or so and therefore is not available in Spanish or English web or google search; not very good ecommerce for non German countries.

BUT! he has the Haraella Retrocalla that I want and a couple of good deals. So thank you to bring that vendor up!

Mystery solve...:

Sii, sii... Google traduce todo :-) but in general when you Google Search = keywords in English or Spanish and the host website is not SEO register (search optimize) in those lenguage it doesn't come out in the results, that's a regular or general rule for any website, right?. But on top of that, Popow don't even have keywords optimization in it's own lenguage; German. Therefore, if I look from Spain "Orchideen Online-Verkauf" (Orchids Online Sales) all the other German, Dutch and Swiss vendors show up in 1st and 2nd page result but he doesn't at all, so for me was unknown since I haven't been in any show, I basically use Google and this forum to find orchid sources.

Cheers
