This has bloomed for me every year since I got it in 1999 during this time. This year it has 10 spks at various stages of grwth.Pic # 1 is the way it has looked every year

This year there is an absence of the heavy spotting so the colour is a much brighter yellow.I have always kept it in the same spot in the grnhse & in the summer it is put in exactly the same spot in the tent outdoors so I can only attribute it to the strange weather patterns we have had in the past year

It will be interesting to see if all the flowers lack the heavy color markings. Obviously with 10 flowers, you're doing a great job on culture. Is there anything different about feeding, watering, or temp at which flower buds set or opened?

So far 3 have opened & they are all the same-no more spotting evident.Nothing special to get it to bloom.I just have time release fertilizer in the pot.It gets watered the same as all my plants.

Hmmm, what is your secret Jane? Thanks for sharing all these great orchids! They are all drool worthy! P.S. I can't decide if I like it better with or without the spots.

Wow Jane that's incredible, makes one wonder why if there has been no change in culture would think it might be the maturing of the plant itself, loosing pigment so to speak, but the yellow would appear to be brighter...nice change. Did you repot this past year, growing medi. change? Wouldn't change a thing, your a good person not to blame it on El Nino or the ozone layer Blooming every year since 1999...to die for...
