Thanks, WW! Excited to have such a prolific plant at such an early stage.

Looks like all 9 will open together with another spike on its way.

So very nice. I'm new to zygopetalum. Trying to repot two new zygopetalum I got two days ago. Looks like you just use bark and a little perlite as the growing media? And you grow it indoor right?

got it. thanks. repot it this afternoon. I read that it can bloom up to three times a year, that's very rewarding.

Frank, welcome to the Orchid Board!

It would be nice for you go to the Introductions forum section and introduce yourself to us. From the left yellow menu choose Forums then Introductions - Break the Ice. Near the top left center is a button New Thread. People might not see you here in a thread devoted to something else.

Also, the Search feature is quite useful. You can find how other people have potted and grown Zygopetalums. Depending on what part of LA you live in they might be easier to grow, or not.

Thanks, yes, I will. I just started collecting orchid since pandemic. Totally newbie here. Will definitely spend more time here.

For some reason, the search function didn't work, maybe I didn't do it right.

It's Dorchid's thread of his Zygopetalum triggered me to register and ask question directly. Thanks Dorchid.

You are welcome and welcome aboard! I’d echo estacion’s sentiment to seek out what’s working for others and to investigate the needs/culture of your plants on the web at large. From there you can distill the info down to fit your particular conditions or those that you wish to create.

All 9 are open! The incoming spike only has 2 buds, though. Unfortunately, I just can’t get a good pic. 😢
