New from southern Arizona
Hi Orchidboarders,
Got my first Orchid about 35 years ago. For a long, long time never had more than 20-25 (found them easy to "grow", but hard to BLOOM). Took me until about 10 years ago to figure out how to get regular blooms. Built a very small greenhouse (6 1/2 ft x 21 ft x 9 ft high) 5 years ago, then started buying more orchids (maybe 250-300 plants now). Concentrate on small-mini types for new aquisitions, but have a few large Catts (40-50+ blooms . . . I'll post some pictures soon), and everything (well, not EVERYTHING) in between. MANY different genera, quite a variety, but all warm to intermediate growers. I like terrestrials and have 30-40 varieties, mostly "foliage" types.
I'm a member of the Southern Arizona Orchid Society (in Tucson). Lately, I have not been a very good "participant", but it is a great organization and I recommend it highly!
Hopefully I can both learn and contribute on this forum.
