Hallo, and thank you. I`m pleased to find this forum. I would call myself a novice. I have about 50 orchids a few a few of them are hybrids. At the moment only 3 in bloom, but others in bud. One in bud is Laelia lobata, totally out of season. Also I have a few seedlings.

Hello Spider,
I just read your introductory post. Now I'm what one would call a novice....as I have only three orchids. LOL Are your seedlings some you've grown? Do you possibly trade them for postage? Or other kinds of plants? I would be interested in knowing.
Thanks, Annette

Hi Spider
Welcome to Orchidboard

I've moved your original post to our Introductions forum so all your new friends can give you a true OB welcome

Are you able to grow your 'chids outdoors in Stockholm or do you have them indoors...or a greenhouse?
We'd love to see some and I look forward to hearing more from you

If you need help with anything, let us know

Welcome to the ORchid Board. Glad you joined us. I know many people that I would call experts call themselves novices. So Novice is a good word. Afterall, without novices there would never be any experts.

Thank you all for the warm welcoming. There was a lot of questions. Yes we can have orchids outdoors preferable in the summer, but we also have wild orchids in Sweden, but there are also garden orchids that rest during the winter, they have to be covered with straw to keep warm. They are Ophrys, Orchis, Serapias and Anacamptis.I have had most of my orchid outdoors in the summer, the like the the open air. The winters are usually very dry, then I have to spray the plants 1-2 times a day.No I don`t grow plants for sale, but it happen that I`m given plants that I havenīt planed for and then I ususally give them away. But I also sell plants when I have to manyThe seedlings come from flasks. Iīm a member of a Swedish forum where we can sell our plants.
