OK. So I know this is not the first time that you all have heard this....But I have been lurking around the forum and learning as much as possible over the past couple of weeks and finally decided to create an account.

I have always been fascinated by plants (something i attribute to my grandmother). I never really thought keeping orchids, because i always thought that they were too difficult and blah blah blah. Since it is winter time currently in Raleigh, NC I have decided to take the leap due to the lack of growing season outside. I bought a few Phalaenopsis from the local Lowes in order to get my horticultural fix.

The more and more that I read about orchids on this forum intrigues me further and further. I never knew there were so many types, colors, sizes, and shapes. Due to my collector personality, orchids are obviously something that I will want to pursue and invest more time, in addition to my plants outside ( I have quite the collection outside too!).

I want go ahead and thank everyone for the information that I have already received from all of you from reading the forums and thank you all ahead of time for some of the questions that I will probably ask.

jfknigh2 - They say that the first step in recovery is admitting that you have a problem, you have clearly done that already so you're good to go. Let the enabling begin. Welcome to the friendliest Board on the web.

There is no 12 step recovery with this addiction..I take 12 steps and go another 12 GIANT steps and buy that little beauty !! I started with 1 den and 1 phal I bought at a craft show 7 years ago. There is no hope for me and my husband has given up asking me the question "Don't you think you have enough??"

Welcome to OB!
