Hello! Newbie here...
Default Hello! Newbie here...

Hello! I'm Britt, aka the CrazyCatMum...humble servant to two tabby cat boys. I have always loved Phaleanopsis but recently started my new obsession with minis. I have a pleurothallis rowleei, stelis thermophila and a masdevallia paivaena. Currently I have them in a bark/moss mix which I spray once a day in terracotta pots as my house is always incredibly warm and I read terracotta can help keep them cool...but any other help and advice would be gratefully received as I'm desperate not to kill these little guys!

Those are really neat orchids. The Pleurothallidinae subtribe has some really great orchids.

I'm currently looking for orchidarium/terrarium/greenhouse ideas so I can increase the humidity...currently I'm liking the Ikea Akerbar but if you have any other suggestions I would be grateful!

Hi Britt! I'm also a newbie on this forum, and so far I only have one orchid, a Phalaenopsis. I definitely want to get more, but I feel like I need to learn how to take good care of them first. Looking forward to learning from everyone here

Welcome Ethan. How about starting your own thread in the Break the Ice forum, and introduce yourself a bit? From the left yellow menu choose Forums, then near the top, Introductions -- Break the Ice!

To learn a little about Phalaenopsis orchids, have a look at my recent comment in this thread.
