Seedling orchid ID
Hello, I bought this orchid couple of days ago and i think its a seedling but seller told me that this is a mature plant and have minature blooms or flowers.is anyone can id this please ? Thanks

It could very possibly be a single lead division of a vandaceous plant. Did you get any id with it?

Yes, it could be a seedling Ascocentrum, Vanda, or a hybrid between them called Ascocenda. There are some Ascocentrum species and hybrids that bloom when very small.
Botanists have changed the name of Ascocentrum into Vanda so you may see the same plant with different names: Ascocentrum miniatum / Vanda miniata; Ascocentrum pumilum / Vanda pumila.

Thank you for helping me, i really appreciate it. no it didn't have any tag on it when i purchased it like most orchids in Iran. can it be Angraecum seedling or anything but vanda or Asco. ? Thanks

It is not an Angraecum. Notice the sharp, 3-way split at the end of each leaf. This is characteristic for Vanda and Ascocentrum, and their relatives. Angraecum leaves may have a split, but the ends are usually more round and there are not 3 parts.

Basically agreeing with the others, this is a Vanda (or related) plant. If it is a hybrid there are some other genera that could be in the mix - Renanthera or Neofinetia (also Vanda now) possibly, in addition to Ascocentrum and classic Vanda, maybe some others less common. Until it blooms there is no way to be certain.

I would pull the s.moss back from the stalk of the plant or pull the plant up a little. It looks deep to me and you don't want the core of the plant to rot by staying wet in the s.moss. You basically just want the roots covered in my opinion.
