Question Yu Pin Pearl Orchid

I have a YU PIn Pearl orchid plant, that has lost it's blooms. There are "roots growing out of the botom tem. I would like to culktivate and grow this plant again so it booms. What do I do? The original branch that had the blooms is still there.

Sounds like you have the Phal. Yu Pin Pearl.

If the media looks and smells ok, you might want to leave 'til next time (after it blooms and the flowers fade) for repotting, but Phals do like to be repotted every year or 2.

Keep the roots a little moist but let the media dry out a bit before watering. I sometimes I put sphagnum moss on top of the exposed roots). Also I mist the exposed roots every second day or so.

If you like, you can cut the "branch" entirely (it should rebloom next season with a new spike) or cut a little above the node where the last flower bloomed. It's up to You. The latter method should only be tried if the plant looks healthy and strong.

Welcome to the forum, Randy!
