Hi,

I'm new to the boards and have a couple of unknown orchids I'm trying to get a general idea what these plants are. I'll post each in separate threads to avoid confusion.

I bought this plant in spike and it looks like some type of cattleya hybrid (?). The flowers are very tiny, about an inch wide. Appreciate any ideas!

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

I suspect it's a hybrid in the Cattleya alliance. I see features reminding me of genus Broughtonia.

Agreed!

Could be a hybrid, but it's a dead ringer for Broughtonia sanguinia. Light variety with splash petal.
