Default I ordered a dendrobium and received this. Vanda?

This tiny plant arrived in a 2.5 inch pot. I looks like it's in dirt? I haven't done anything except to water and feed weekly weakly and one new leaf grew and now a tiny spike is starting. It this a vanda? I never thought they were this tiny.I ordered a dendrobium and received this. Vanda?-20220520_154726-jpg

That's definitely a spike and definitely some vandaceous type plant.
Might be something like a sarcochilus or ascocentrum?
What dendrobium had you ordered?

I think you're right after looking up schoenorchis. What I had ordered was a dendrobium nobile. The picture showed it had reddish purple blooms covering the stems. I ordered through Etsy and they referred me to the seller to negotiate and that didn't help either. The spike is now even with the top of the leaves. I'll post a pic here when it blooms.

For what it's worth... Schoenorchis probably are worth more than Den. nobile.

The one thing we can say for certain is that it isn't a nobile Dendrobium.

I think @keysguy hit it with Ascocentrum. Asco. miniatum if I had to guess a species.

We may know more when it blooms but it definitely is something way more interesting than a nobile dendrobium.

Whoops, did I say that out loud?

That's still no excuse for what happened and the vendor's unwillingness to rectify.

Who was the vendor? I've never dealt on Etsy but there are a lot of threads here about a particular unscrupulous vendor on ebay who most of us here on this forum steer clear of because of this exact same bait and switch practice.

The plant form is vaguely familiar, but I’ll be damned if I can nail it down.

Tuberolabium? Cleisocentron?

Default Spike is progressing

Still not quite in bloom, but looks like it's gonna be yellow.
It even has two infinitesimally tiny droplets of nectar on the flower spike.
