Fragrant Phal ID help Male
Default Fragrant Phal ID help

Hello again from sunny Queensland

I was wondering if anyone here could ID this miniature Phal.

It's just come into bloom and has a wonderful fragrance.

It smells very much like fruit salad and fills the room with its pleasant fragrance mostly during late afternoons.
It also has mottling on its leaves.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone can point me in the right direction in how to load pictures the correct way up that would also be appreciated

I can't help with an ID, but I can give photo advice. Upload your photos to the hosting site Postimages — free image hosting / image upload and choose 'hotlink for forums'. This will copy to your clipboard. Simply paste the link in your message and your pics will show in the correct orientation.

The leaf pattern is more distinctive than the flower IMO, you should get a good shot of the leaves. The flower looks a bit like a plant I have, but yours has the cool mottled leaves.

If you have the possibility to contact the place where you bought it and ask the vendor name. Then ask them directly.

Your orchid is beautiful! I hope you’ve been able to ID it by now. I can’t ID it but I can say the leaves look like it has Phal. Stuartiana in its ancestry. I have a Stuartiana and two hybrids with Stuartiana in their ancestry, and their leaves look like yours. One of my hybrids is fragrant as well. It has soft lavender blooms that smell like grape soda.

I’m a big fan of the leaves. None of my 3 were in bloom when I bought them. The leaves alone sold me.

Enjoy your lovely orchid. Good luck!
Dana
