Need help with identifying type of orchid

Hello all,

I recently purchased an orchid from TJs but not sure of the exact type. The tag said ppmiltonia however I'm doubtful if its a miltonia or miltoniopsis.. Can someone please help me in identifying the orchid from the pictures attached? Thanks much in advance.

Looks like a miltoniopsis to me.

Poor eyesight here... I can't tell from the pictures, but Miltonia have two leaves at the apex of the pseudobulb and Miltoniopsis just have one. That should allow you to figure it out.

Thank you Ray and WaterWitchin for the confirmation. Even I was leaning towards that conclusion but was hoping its not a miltoniopsis. It does have 1 leaf with each pseudobulb so must be a miltoniopsis.. I've heard Miltoniopsis are more difficult to care for

They’re not too hard to care for. They don’t like to be too hot or too cold: I grow mine outside and temperatures with lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s seem to keep them happy. Light is bright shade and I try to water as soon as the substrate approaches dryness. I have a couple at the office where AC keeps temperatures in the 70s and those are doing well too.

As per previous post, you need to water Miltoniopsis before it dries completely. Also:

They do better underpotted (small pots) rather than overpotted.
They need to be repotted annually (they HATE stale mix).

I have grown them both in spaghnum and in seedling size bark/charcoal/perlite mix.

Thank you all so much for the advices. Finding the right place for this miltoniopsis is a challenge. All my house window sills have heating vents close by. unfortunately and bathrooms which might be a good to provide humidity do not have sufficient light. For now I just kept it near my kitchen sink although its not a place where the light is bright. I'm following the advices from you all and trying to keep the soil moist and not letting it dry out completely.

Pretty bloom. After failing to grow these but deciding I wouldn't give up, I purchased one last spring and noticed how the grower was doing it. I refuse to chill the entire house and simply placed it under a fan on the kitchen island some 5-6ft from a window. Sink was right there so watering was not forgotten. New growth emerged and so has my confidence.
