Confessing my sins: Phal abuse Male
Default Confessing my sins: Phal abuse

I thought I'd come clean and confess my sins to the counsel, which is that of Phal abuse.

The store bought NOID Phal has been put through a lot by me, not water frequently enough, and at one point being left outside on days that the upper temperature was above 100 degrees.

However, I've repented for my sins and the Phal is seemingly forgiving me, slowly but surely. I've been watering it thoroughly with the hose whenever its bark mix gets dry, and been making sure to bring it inside whenever it gets too hot or too cold out. No longer is it being neglected.

A new leave it starting to shoot up, and a new big fat root is poking out at the base of the plant, as well as roots covered in the bark mix are also starting to make more root tips. One old flower stem I didn't cut off is sticking around and seemingly getting ready to use it to make another set of flowers.

I hope this encourages others with Phals to not abuse theirs, as even the store bought NOID ones can be very rewarding.

No confessions or apologies necessary. I have grocery store phals that I've abused regularly over the years. They're my "go-to" when the desire to experiment comes along, and some have been abused in several different ways. Survived the experiments much better than most other orchids toyed with. I think they kinda like the challenge.

100 F / 38C is not too hot if in shade, well-watered and with reasonable humidity.
