I would have to say Peter Lin's BLO forum is AWESOME! Just like here on OB, there is a wide range of members with a wide range of experience. Topics can range from the simple but very important topic of basic care, to the complexities of breeding for coeruleas. All in all, Peter's forum is great for Phal addicts! And there is tons of pictures of mouth watering phals.

About 4-6 weeks from the forming of a bud to the first opening is about right. However, I have 2 of my phals in bloom right now, and I noticed that the phal that has fewer (albeit larger) blooms took less time from bud to flower than the other orchid did. I've included pictures of them, the pink phal has just the one spike blooming, and the yellow phal has a total of 5 spikes with blooms, with another spike with just buds on it still. Just FYI, all of my phals (I have 5) are "rescues", I got them from the grocery store!

Default Other orchid forum websites.

I couldn't agree with you more!!!! I had myself removed from another 'orchid-talk' type forum website because they wouldn't let me post some threads that I thought included valuable info and insight into how different it is in China purchasing orchids both on-line and in 'flower markets', how different it is naming and ID'ing plants with Chinese growers, etc. I told them to remove me as a member and I called the admininistrators very 'narrow-minded'. I surely didn't do anything that I felt was offensive. They wouldn't even let me name the provinces where these plants were grown, and to me that is an interesting fascet of Chinese orchid culture.

So Marty, I certainly appreciate what you have written in this thread. XieXie (Chinese for thank you)!
