Old T5 Flourecent Fixture-Replace with LED Gro Lights or Buy Entire Fixture
Default Old T5 Flourecent Fixture-Replace with LED Gro Lights or Buy Entire Fixture

Hi,

I bought some older EnvirogGro T55 fixture but the bulbs are in need of replacement.

I would like to find replacement LED bulb to swap out. I really do not know which grow light will do the best job.

And the cost for the bulbs seem really high.

Can someone suggest whether I should look for bulbs and replace or scrap out the old fixtures and start over.

Is reasonable bulbs are available, maybe suggest a vendor.

Thanks in advance for the guidance.

I am of the opinion that if a grow light or bulb maker does not report a PPFD value, you are left to guess on the suitability of the product. Remember that brightness, as perceived by the human eye, is not relevant when looking for a grow light. Knowing the spectral output would be helpful, but the PPFD is key, and the value is dependent upon the distance from the light source.

If you can, in fact, find good LED lamps that fit in that fixture, I would compare the cost of those to the cost of a new LED fixture with similar light output.

Anybody have a suggestion for a bulb vendor or type?

Wide range of pricing and I do not know which type bulb will do the job.

Thanks

I have been happy with the SF series of panel lights from Spider Farmer. Barrina is a more affordable option, but you get what you pay for.

I am glad to see someone is asking this. I did give away the four bulb-four foot fluorescent ballasts but I still have a two-foot single bulb one and wondered if it is better to keep buying the fluorescent bulbs or if there was a good replacement LED bulb for it. It is quite confusing....
