WW- why not water these with a systemic pesticide? I don’t advocate it in general but for a small population that is very prone to a particular insect....maybe a good use

Yup, and I did...after the damage was already done. But you're right. I'm gonna start giving them an every six months treatment, just for giggles.

"MICROCOSM NEWS"

In microcosm revival after 2 months of very cool nights up to + 13C (+55F).
Masdevallia decumana produced a bud, which, as usual, I only noticed when it became obscenely huge. If scaphosepalum is strongly associated with the Klingons, then the ability of the Decuman to hide is associated with another space race, the Cylon spies.

I'm waiting for growth from the summer Colombian calodiction, but he is about to bloom: D

The buds were given out by my new summer tenant from KOPF. His flowers will also be cosmically alien. Stelis mystax, began to grow leaves rapidly in the summer. And now three buds have grown, with a white border.

First bloom Masdevallia patriciana after summer.

Whoah! Anatomy indeed! Come on Akhenaten... size here please? Teeny tiny? Your photography skills with these little beasties is simply amazing.

Akhenaten 11-05-2020 11:11 AM

Thank you very much WaterWitchin :)
Flower size is about 1/4 inch, leaf size is 1 inch. My new Trisetella triaristela from Colombia has only 1/2 inch.

Yes!
I love the anthropomorphism/personification, I see them the same way!

Great photos and I can’t wait to see that flower!
