Not sure where we're headed with this, and as I said you grow so many orchids I've never heard of. So Imma just patiently wait for the show.
Came here searching through for the name of a carnivorous plant you grow... the Musketeers one. But was looking back toward front of this series as well. The question becomes... whatever happened to the cholla wood with the Tolumnia on it? You still have that in the setup, or?? |

Yes, Tolumnias on cholla tree alive but don't bloom. And some of them grew new rosettes :) |
Would have been easier to just ask, but it was a nice stroll down memory lane regardless.
Tolumnia probably not getting enough light. |

Well Hmmmmmm. I'm no Tolumnia expert. I've lost most of mine due to too much experimentation and a nasty round of scale I didn't catch right away. Part of me wants to give up, and part of me wants to try, try again.
|
Try again!!!
They are fickle bc they get real wet and then really dry. Which is hard to replicate |

Well, yes, certainly getting enough light. And of course I'm still gonna try, try again. They're actually one of my favorites, which is probably why I don't grow them well. Too much fiddling around and moving them. And then the damned scale attack from hell was very unhelpful. That's the problem with those little guys... too many tight little folds for bugs to hide. Magnifying glass and a jewelers loupe have been located. I may look like a complete nerd, but game on.

Tolumnias come with a bare root in a mesh penny. No substrate, but daily dipping and frequent fertilization. This should work well in content in all conditions. They bloom after drier conditions. I will try to water once a week with the onset of frost, and in the spring, return to normal daily watering, I think this will lead to flowering. |
That sounds like a lotta work Akhenaten! I think I'd better be doing better with the ones I have instead of adding to my issues. Gotta get these training wheels off first.
