Yeah, really tulips, evicted for tulips.

yeah i'm a bit of a safety greek myself, though i also am pretty well trained and come from a long line of highly educated jimmy riggers (grandpa built a 85 ft ham radio tower in his back yard and wired his whole house for intercom systems..... in 1953!) i got raised to always to know exactly how things work, so you can break them correctly!

but yeah on the internet posts like your are usually needed, since you have no idea who is on the other end.

after some digging and cleanup, i have found an external GFI plug just under the edge of the decking, so i will probably use that for right now, going to go test what circuit it is on, cause it is right below the kitchen and i ned to make sure some idiot didn't put it on top of major appliance!

I really like what you are doing! I also think your various talents are really great to have. Most people are not practical, not at all. Have fun with the project!

set up has been slow because apparently you have to move everything you own when you move, not just your orchids, who knew?:dunno:

but i have finally gotten the main structure of the greenhouse onto the deck, no small feat because i had only about 2 in to spare in any dimension and then figured out that the greenhouse was about 4in bigger than it said it was!!

so now i am about to put up a second layer of insulation for the winter (line the inside with a pool cover, basically super thick bubble wrap)
i got my fogger today and waiting on my better heater, but it may be delayed, so if i get my new temp tracker, i will see if my old heaters are up to the job.

i also am thinking i am going to install a rain barrel inside the greenhouse, there is a downspout right on the outside of one wall, so i can tap into that and only have to run the line a few inches, all but 1 in or so will be in the heated space, so hopefully could use it all winter.

ill upload some pics now

here is my porch area that i am putting up the orchid house on, its just a bit more than 10ftx10ft total

here the greenhouse finally in place, it was tough, because in the end the greenhouse was 4 inches longer than the company said it was and 2 inches wider. i had to jimmy one corner, and angle the side just lightly, but you cant really even see what i did and everything fits like a glove now, with nanometers to spare! this is actually facing south in this picture, so the greenhouse is exposed to North and West sides. you can see the downspout i want to tap into to the right of the greenhouse

i took the door off since it was straight to the wall and that added to its extra length. i think i may line the brick with Reflectix insulation, to bounce light back into the room, this is the East wall. i raised the whole thing up into a frame of 2x6, you can see it as the darker green on the bottom. that allowed it to clear the porch lights that are on either side of the door, sure makes for great lighting in there! the sliding glass door leads to my office and it is really a lovely sight from inside.

this West wall has a downspout for the gutters right on the other side of it, so will be the location of the inside rain barrel

i have two more larger "metro" racks going in after the second layer in insulation goes up

That Looks amazing! Can't wait to see it filled with all your orchids blooming away - happy in their new home.

Very nice!

im still really impressed with how built in it looks, but wow, getting that in there with no room to shimmy in either direction was impressive (even the short side is a tight fit because the kitchen door has a brick ledge that is literally 3/8' of an inch away from the greenhouse's NE corner), lean tos are really wiggly when they are not "leaning too"
