Wow, cool, I thought they only spiked from the top. I never cease to be amazed by these incredible plants! :)

They can bloom from any nodes where there's leaves. I have mine bloom continuously thru out the year. Den. Phal is easy to grow and a reliable bloomer.

And yes I've seen them come from lower nodes in the past.

The 2 spikes off the old cane shriveled up and died along with the bottom most bud on this spike, not sure why but I'm guessing it may have been from the cold near the window (have since moved all my plants back) but I'm loving the 3 blooms I got! :)
