Oh, Charlie, you are so awesome!!!! You've made my whole day, thank you, thank you!!!

Funny how orchids can make us so crazy, isn't it??

This is a fabulous little orchid isn't it? It's definitely on my top ten list. Mine just started blooming again and has rewarded me with a wonderful fragrance this year that it hasn't in the past...I love it!

Talking 2009 Flowers

Den Woon Leng has started to bloom again this summer. This is the first flower to open. This flower spike started from last years cane, just like last year. The new cane is already larger in diameter and heigth than last year and is still growing and has not yet shown a spike. Last year this plant was in flower for six months - appears to be getting ready for a repeat performance.

Question Repotting Den Woon Leng

Like clockwork, Den Woon Leng flowers in early August, now for three years in a row.

I knew from the nursery website that this den was potted in large slabs of coconut husks:

Kerry's

When I checked this spring, the coconut slabs had gotten very waterlogged and roots were rotting. So I discarded the coconut shells, cleaned up the plants and repotted in a fir bark mix. This plant has not adjusted yet and has not produced a new cane as in previous years.
This flower spike is growing from last years cane which is typical.
Has anyone else found the coconut shells waterlogged? Did you repot or just reduce watering ?? If you repotted, what did you use and what have been your results ???
Hate to lose this plant
