Default Dendrobium harveyanum in bloom

I love this Den because the blooms are so crazy frilly! And the bright yellow color is so cheerful.

There are only 2 flowers since this species needs a dry winter rest in order to make larger spikes. I'll do better next year.

It will be hard to find this variety in the UK in future. I'm hoping there will be an orchid event next year where I can find one. This one is becoming a harder and harder to find orchid.

That's what I'm hearing a lot of from people in the UK... It's sad that the range of orchids available to you is now so limited, and getting more expensive from what I hear.

I really like these frilly dendrobiums, even two blooms look good. Any idea why they are frilly in nature?
