Very nice! They're confident and don't care what we think.

Excellent colours and patterns. The droopiness could possibly be due to one of those tracks being short circuited - or even open circuited. Loving the kiwi fruit effect!

Beautiful plants. I would love to try to grow them.

I thought all the latouria type orchids had the downward facing blooms due to their natural environment.
I did look at environment description when I was thinking of trying them and it said (from memory)

.....despite plants growing from sea level to heights around 4000m they get all year round rainfall.

I assumed high humidity and that the blooms grew this way to protect the pollen and be able to shed rainfall efficiently.

The above reading is why I have not yet tried to grow them. I think my environment would be too dry for them even with the humidity I am able to provide.
But maybe in time I will give it a try.

I have read posts from quite a few people here who grow them in their houses. I think keeping the medium moist is more important than high humidity.

In the case of Den Micro Chip, I grow it in the greenhouse, it gets some humidity but I do it just for the temperature. (Choice of location for me is pretty binary - outside if it can handle winter low temperatures of 40 deg F/4 deg C, GH if not) I don't think that it's particularly fragile with regard to humidity,

I grow them all in the house, under lights, Diane. But, they do need to stay moist. At first I grew them more like a phal. As I lost a few and gained a few, I moved them to bright (oncidium or Catt) light and potted them in a moss mix, watering maybe 3x a week. I recommend Microchip first, it's very forgiving. Good luck. BTW, mine face mostly outwards, except MC.

All my "chip" orchids are either hang higher than my head (which makes watering difficult) or lay down on the floor or couch to get a good look.

Was talking to a very knowledgeable grower about a year ago (can't remember who) and he said people had been trying to breed out that downward dog pose for years, and no one was really getting anywhere. Wish I could remember more of the conversation...

Terrific contribution old friend.... LOL

If I could gather all the knowledge I have forgotten, oh boy, I’d be a force to listened to

I like them but they are quite frustrating when rhey won’t look at you while you are talking
