Outside my window. Golf anyone???? I live on a golf course.

Phrag Bel Croute. 4th-5th-6th flowers on 2 stems. It has been in bloom since early Nov. and stands 57" tall. I'm sure it will get taller as the other top buds start to grow and open. I can still see 4 buds ready to open, and still more tiny ones.

I grow it under HPS lights, S/H method, in my basement.

It does take a lot of space so I think, when it is finished blooming, I am going to try supporting some of the long leaves with narrow panty hose strips. They get so long they fold and leave a mark. Has anyone tried this?

The gold course looks gorgeous

and your 'chid is spectacular!
I know what you mean about folded leaves, it happens to my Cyms sometimes. I'm not sure how a support system would work but I'd love to see what you come up with

Interesting topic ladies. I was having my coffee this morning, looking outside at the amount of snow accumulated from the latest snowstorm last night, shaking my head in disbelief....then looking down at my gorgeous orchids, and thinking how my Mtssa. and Cym leaves are not getting the support they need and what to use to help them. Then I get online and there you are! Discussing the very same problem. I wonder if anyone else has tried a method that works.
Not sure I follow the pantyhose strips method. But, hey, I'm not that "on the ball" this morning anyway. kiki-do

Use the large pot rings that you can purchase at most orchid supply online stores.

Happy Growing!
And stay warm! It's finally going to get cold down here in Texas; it's going to be 30 degrees tonight. Love all the snow that you have. Thanks for the picture!

Oh, isn't it pretty?

I hate winter, and I live here! Long story! Not my choice, by the way - there are always two choices in a marriage. I chose to stay married

I love your pictures from your photo gallery. Looks like you and Dot have it made up there. Then before all the beautiful snow you have the changing of the trees. Your place and greenhouse looks like a little piece of heaven!

Happy Growing!
