Default Cymbidium goeringii var. alba

I got this plant from TenShinGardens, via Call-me-Bob in april this year. See this thread for details
It is called var. alba, which seems to be true considering the white labellum and all green sepals. A nice little addition to my collection

Hi,
How are you growing yours? I haven't seen any growth on mine yet. I must be doing something wrong.

It bloomed for you!!! That's awesome! I'm so glad it bloomed for you! The flowers is spectacular, I can't wait for mine to bloom!! I have four of these left over, but I accidentally sold all the 'Lian Ban' Mine didn't bloom because I didn't repot them out of the moss and bag for at least a month of having them, maybe even longer; they all had spikes but they died because I didn't have a chance to get to them. They do have 2+ new growths each though! Hopefully they bloom next season!

What's your's potted in?

I potted it in orchiata bark like my other goeringii.
The LianBan had a spike that dried.
This one had another bud on the spike that didn't make it. They both have new growths

That's what happened to my spikes. :\ Mine are potted in a mix of fine fir bark, small perlite, and small charcoal. Hopefully they do alright!

Alba means the total lack of red pigment in any part of the flower. It appears from your photo that you have some red veining in the segments. I would not call this a true alba variety.

I love Cymbidiums and I have started to collect them...but isn't easy to find natural species (not hybrid). Very nice one, even if I prefer standard form.
