Ten Shin normally comes to the US 3-5 times a year to attend shows. On such trips, Matt is willing to bring customer orders and ship upon arrival in the US.

Currently there are no shows, so you may have to wait till the fall (I assume shows will start up again in the 2021/2022 season).

You are right. I ordered plants in November to be shipped in Feb/Mar. they were sent USPS. I paid for the fastest shipping. They are lost, said they were out for delivery three days ago and would arrive by 3pm. No tracing activity. Only sent and date then the out for delivery. They’re dead somewhere in the US.

LESSON LEARNED. YOU ARE RIGHT!

I also pay whatever it costs for FedEx if that is an option, except if the vendor is on the west coast (where I am) where I haven't had problems with USPS. Some vendors use it as the default (Andy's Orchids and Tarzane group come to mind) and it doesn't cost much more than USPS, tracking much more robust and reliable.

I get mine from vendors on Amazon. The four plants that I purchased last year just finished blooming. The flowers were very unique and they had a wonderful smell. To tell you the truth, I just ordered three more from Amazon this morning. I purchased a red one, a pink one, and a red and green flower one. All of the vendors that I purchased from all all in the U.S. All of the plants that I purchased last year were extremely healthy with a good root system when they arrived at my house. I was so impressed with the flowers that I looked on Amazon this morning and found three colors that I didn't have. I purchased them immediately. You need to try the sellers on Amazon. I received great plants and I expect that the plants that I ordered this morning will be just as good. BTW, the vendors that I purchased from today also offer free shipping. I hope that this helps you. Oh and the prices are the lowest that I have found while searching other vendors on the internet.

Dulcinea, did your plants ever show up? Last fall I had a shipment of tropical plants sent 2-day Priority Mail from Louisiana. The post office never showed any tracking information. They didn't arrive. I and the vendor assumed they were lost and dead. They showed up just over 30 days after they were shipped. Most lost all their leaves and were bare sticks. To my surprise some have survived and are growing. There is a chance your Cyms may survive if they show up.

Thanks. I didn’t know Amazon sold cymbidiums!

My orchids that were shipped February 15 by Priority Mail Express we’re supposed to be here in two days. They were shipped from Florida by Ecuagenera. The Post Office sent tracking saying they’d be here February 18. No orchids and shipment tracking disappeared. They showed up on February 28. They had no bottom roots only some side roots. I don’t know if they’ll make it or not. I sent photos immediately as Ecuagenera had filed a claim. I haven't heard a word since. Not even a mention of the photos I sent. They weren’t cymbidiums, they were lepanthes and rlcs. The lepanthes telepogoniflora looked good.

The Post Office has BIG problems. All plants seem to be arriving late and the tracking info is useless. Today I received a shipment where tracking info wasn’t updated and they arrived one week late. 😠
