Prediction based on mine, which bloom in late July, or early August... Add or subtract 6 months for the opposite seasons for opposite hemispheres.

I've never seen a tenebrosa bloom from a brown sheath. That is not to say it impossible, but is to say it is unlikely. If the sheath is brown and dry, you probably won't get blooms from that growth, especially if new growths have started. Once the new growths shart, you won't get blooms from the older growths.

Update on this one...after 4 years taking good care of it, it seems it will bloom this summer for the first time.

I've got two big previously bloomed tenebrosas. They have two growth cycles each year (which I thought was odd, because I thought tenebrosa usually had only one growth cycle per year, but I could be wrong, maybe this is common).

The first growths started right after flowering in early summer and matured by fall. The second set of new growths began as soon as the others were mature, grew all winter, and they are just now reaching maturity. The sheaths on the just barely mature growths are swelling with buds, but there is no bud action going on in the growths that matured in the summer, even though they have sheaths. I don't know if those summer growths will bloom later, or at all. Right now it is just the winter growths that are going to bloom.

I guess we will see what happens. I'll let you know.

Finally, after four years babysitting it, it bloomed.
It's not as red as I was expecting but that's just an excuse to get another one.
It doesn't seem to smell but it should be fragrant...maybe it depends on the time of the day.

Here´s some photos under artificial and natural light:
