Default Encyclia Traci Sellers in bloom

(tampensis x hanburyi)

Photo is from last month - there's only a couple of blooms left now. I've been slacking on taking pix and posting my blooming orchids for a while

I got this as a small division about 4 years ago - first time blooming in my care, as it took me a while to learn to not over-water it Another of my outside orchids, getting some mid-afternoon sun; gets the same weather protections as the others.

Potted in sphag currently, but needs a bigger pot (currently in a 3" clay pot), and I'm not sure of myself to keep it in sphag in larger ... Allowed to dry out in-between waterings.

Thanks for looking

Beautiful! I have a noid encyclia that I've done my darndest to kill through root rot (I AM a root serial killer extraordinaire and chronic compulsive over-waterer) but since mounting it and adding a kelp supplement it's making a slow comeback. Thanks for sharing, not only the pic but it's story as well...I don't feel so alone lol. Is it fragrant?

Thanks, everyone

I did not detect any fragrance - tho it's possible I didn't check at the right time ...

Judith - good luck with yours! I have a mounted Enc. bractescens that has done well for me.
