That's beautiful. I can't wait til the Blc. Cornerstone '4th of July' bag baby I picked up last year blooms. I hope it turns out as nice as yours. Is the color more pink than in the photo?
So do you grow your orchids in side your house during the Winter? It is amazing you can grow orchids there. Even still more amazing that there's an Orchid society there.

Hi Silken -
Mine is blooming now too and I only have one flower also. They smell so good and are worth the wait aren't they? Good Growing!

Thanks. I hope yours blooms soon. I would say it is close to the colour in the photo sort of a purple/pink.

Recently our temps outside have been -30C and even close to -40C with windchills approaching -50C although next week we will be closer to -15C. So, yes, I definitely grow my orchids indoors in winter I do summer a few outside. I am lucky enough to have an attached 'greenhouse' of sorts where most of mine live.

Our orchid society is close to 60 members strong and very active. This year we are hosting the Canadian Orchid Congress annual meeting and having a wonderful orchid show March 27 to 29th so anyone in the area be sure to visit! We aren't even close to the North Pole and there are no polar bears this far south

Thanks,

Here is a picture of the entire plant with a 12 inch ruler standing against it. It is in a 5 inch air cone pot and the roots are growing like crazy. The colour is quite accurate here. You can see one of our kitties behind feeling glad she is indoors. It was -30C with a -40C wind chill earlier this morning!

That is a wonderful color and it's nice that the flower is huge and the plant is compact. Kitty is lovely too!

Thanks! I'm not sure that it is my idea of a compact plant at 18 or 19 inches without the bloom. But the bloom is large to the size of the plant. It sprawls a bit but not too bad.
