BLC. Market Crash
Default BLC. Market Crash

Here's a picture of my BLC. Market Crash. It is a hybrid Brassavola Little Stars and BLC. Murray Spencer. The flowers are 3.5" wide. This is one of my registered hybrids.

Enjoy,

Allen, What a beauty!!
I have admired many of your crosses over the years. Very good work you do with a toothpick!

Remarkable cross, love the flowers. How is the plant habitus?
From your picture stream you have great and well grown plants indeed. But seldom a hobbyist engages in systematic hybridizing.

The growth habit on this particular plant is basically a compact growing Cattleya (vs a Brassavola type leaf).

Very impressive. I'm surprised so much color came through the cross.
I love your web site. You have some amazing crosses. I noticed you use B. Yuki a lot. What are the advantages with this hybrid verse plain B. nodosa?

Brassavola Yaki is B. nodosa X B. cucullata. The B. Yaki flower shape is strongly influenced by the cucullata parent. Also, B. Yaki has more "obvious" color than the B. nodosa parent. As a parent, B. Yaki is producing some interesting hybrids.

Thanks,
Allen
