Default Brassovola nodosa

I have had this plant for several years and it gets better each year. It grows in a six inch pot and has never been repotted. It seems to be quite happy because it has encompassed the entire pot.Brassovola nodosa-brassovola-nodosa-jpg

The first picture is of this years flowers.
The second is last year and the third is two years ago.

I have another plant that is about the same size and it has never bloomed. Grows like a weed but has never produced a flower. It is the Susan Fuchs variety that has a FCC and is quite nice - (when it does flower).

It looks fantastic!! Large nodosas are so beautiful, and such amazing fragrance. Funny that your other one doesn't bloom. I assume tha they get the same conditions? Maybe you need to increase the light for that one. You could also try adding some Epsom salts to the water, sometimes that kick starts plants into blooming. I have a cym that refuses to bloom unless I supplement the fertilizer with Epsom salts...

Jerry do you have this one suspended somehow? That is some awesome growth, and an obviously great bloom(ing). Just great.

Wow, that's pretty cool. What media do you use in the pot? How much light and humidity do you give it? I got a small one of these about 4 years ago that has been growing slowly, but with zero signs of blooming.

Camille, Jarad and Tindomul, When I was watering today I noticed buds on the plant that refused to bloom. There were several and they were all on the very new, in-mature growths. It must have heard me say that it was going to the compost pile. It is potted in shredded tree fern and hangs high with one of the metal pot hangers. The terete leaf is an indicator that it likes high light so I grow it in the brightest spot of the greenhouse with the vandas.
