Default SLC Mini 'Apricot' in bloom

The full name of this catt. is SLC Mini 'Apricot' (SLC California Apricot 'Orange Circle' x SLC 'Mini Pet'), a name I can't remember even on the best of days. I got it as part of our society's group order 2 years ago, and this is the 2nd blooming for this plant, more flowers are on the way.

Nice art shades. How tall is the plant?

The individual leads are about 10-12cm tall, and the whole clump fits in a 10cm diam. pt. I grow it under lights in a converted fish tank. It's a neat little article, the red changes from deep scarlet when the bloom is just opening to cerise when it's about a week old.

The tag should be written: Slc. Mini Apricot (Slc. Californa Apricot 'Orange Circle' x Slc. Mini Pet). When it comes to orchid names, the single parenthesis is used to denote what is called a cultivar name. A cultivar name identifies a single, specific plant, and only plants that are genetically identical to that specific plant can carry the same cultivar name. Breeders commonly use cultivars to easily find out which specific plant of a grex was used as a parent to a cross, as they often have more than one plant of the same grex to use in their breeding. Cultivar names are also officially granted when the plant receives an award from the AOS or any other system that grants awards, such as the RHS or TOGA.

Just to clarify, the part on the tag in brackets is the two parents and the name of the hybrid is only Slc. Mini Apricot. And she is a lovely specimen! Great growing

Should be single quotes instead of single parenthesis.
