This is a large fragrant dark red cattleya. It's actually more maroon than the picture shows. It's a very tall catt.

Tucker!!! That is wonderful!!!! Is the bloom more purple than red in person??? My Chia Lin is blooming now, and while I expected red blooms, they are actually the most beautiful shade of DARK purple/magenta I have ever seen!!! I don't think my camera can capture this color... but we'll see... (photos to come!). How large are the blooms???

Elliot, The blooms on this one are 6" across. The color isn't purple, it's a dark red. It's more red than the picture suggests. Your's sounds very pretty. Post a picture when you can. I know it's difficult to capture exact shades of color with a digital camera. Good luck.
