Default Cattleya amethystoglossa in bloom

One of these years I'll manage to get more than the standard seven blooms that this plant produces every late winter/early spring. Native to Brazil, C. amethystoglossa is a robust grower and reliable bloomer.

I wouldn't feel too bad with seven blooms! That is gorgeous and nicely photographed too.

Absolutely beautiful! I'm very jealous because I don't think mine is going to bloom this year.

The tallest pseudobulbs are just over two feet high (although they will probably become taller as the plant gets older).
