Here's a Cattleya trianaei that blooms pretty reliably.

Really nice white Catt. Do I detect a faint purple tint on the lip?

Yes, there is a faint purple on the lip. I believe that the grower from whom I purchased it referred to the form as a "semi-alba coerulea".

Default question about cattleya dorsal sepals

It is a beautiful grouping with the 3 flowers presenting so nicely. I have a trianae seedling about 3 years from blooming, and can only hope it will turn out something like yours. Do the dorsal sepals always present erect like the ones in your photo, or do they sometimes reflex? From looking at photos of various cattleya species, I am trying to figure out if the tendency for the dorsal to reflex is correlated with some species more than others, or if it might be a culture artifact. Any help with this question is appreciated!
