Default Rojo R. Mueller

This is an absolute beauty! It's a well established plant I bought at the Maine Orchid Society auction for $5.00. Someone was selling their entire collection (and everyone was going broke, believe me). So by the time this little cutie came up for bid, it wasn't as sought after as many of the previous orchids, so I was the only bidder. It is now one of my favorites! I don't even think this picture does it justice.

Really nice.

It reminds me a lot of Blc RusticSpots, but I think it could be even nicer.

Oh Really???? I had the Blc. Rustic Spots as a seedling and it died on me. So it's nice to know I have a replacement.....kind of....sort of.

Kiki.
The name of the hybrid is probably Bl Richard Mueller x Lc Rojo.

However, your flower is an exact ringer for Bl Richard Mueller. Most of the Bl R Mueller x Lc Rojo cross bloomed with a more upright spike and darker orange fuller flowers (from the Lc Rojo). Very few of the cross did bloom like yours (like R Mueller). Because the Bl R Mueller used for the cross was probably a 4N tetraploid, it is possible that your particular plant was like a selfing, because of the genetic pairings involved.
