Default Dinema polybulbon

This was originally Encyclia polybulbon but they went ahead and changed it

Got this a few months ago from Rob at Littlefrog Farm...

It's so cute
Thanks Rob

I just noticed one of mine was blooming yesterday... Must be the right time of year. Cute!

It isn't really all that showy right now. Maybe after it fills in a little (I divided the plant this spring) it will be good for next year's show.

Very nice, Sue!

I read this, and decided to take a look at mine (I stuck it outside), and something has happened to it. I think a squirrel peed on it... that has happened before

I have recieved 2 of these in the last few months and both are called Epidendron polybulbon. One has Dinema in parenthases which I took to mean an old Genus name. neither mentioned Encylia. What is the correct Genus for this species.

The current accepted generic epithet is Dinema. This was included in Encyclia, but since the genus has been reevaluated, a segregate genus was suitable for this species. It may have also been included in Epidendrum also, in which Encyclia spurred from Epidendrum. It is referred to as Dinema polybulbon. Confusing enough?
