If the plant came from SVO, send Fred Clarke an email and ask him. He shares his knowledge very willingly.

I ended up moving my walkeriana to my cool/intermediate room to see if giving it cooler winter temps would help. I am absolutely sure it wasn't a light issue. ES, thanks for the suggestion that it could be water. It has two new growth right now, hoping they turn into leaves! I'm going to up the watering frequency. I will follow up when the new growths mature.

I got curious about what should I call this plant if this walkeriana is a hybrid with loddigesii, because it is a primary hybrid it exists as C. x dolosa but also registered as C. Heathii. Someone hybridized C. x dolosa x C. Heathii and picked the name "Cattleya Conundrum" for the hybrid

Best name for a hybrid ever.

Right up there with Cycnoches Mass Confusion! I’d just leave the name tag as is since you don’t know the ratio of the various parents.

Maybe we need a thread to compile orchid controversies and resulting funny names.

I want one of my "walkerianas" *cough* *coug* to get awarded so I can pick and record one of these cultivar names:

C. walkeriana 'if you say so'
C. walkeriana 'yeah sure'
C. walkeriana 'allegedly'
C. walkeriana 'conspiracy'
C. walkeriana 'who are you'
C. walkeriana 'Bruce Wayne' (because it's an orphan)
C. walkeriana 'Heathii in disguise'
C. walkeriana 'Dude where's my dad?'
C. walkeriana 'Mudblood' (for Harry Potter)
C. walkeriana 'what happened?'

Ima keep thinking and make it my life purpose to get it awarded Lol

And I thought my idea of making a Laelia hybrid and register it as "Is not a Cattleya" is unique enough... Imagine one day taxonomists move it under Cattleya...

And I thought Laelias had already been moved into Cattleyas!

Well, it depends... the Mexican Laelias are still Laelia (and also the Schomburgkias that got moved into Laelia). It's the Brazilian Laelias that got moved into Cattleya.
