Here is the coerulea! Needs another day to fully open, and the scent kicks in on day 3. The scent is strong and just like tigrina.

Ill post a comparison with photos in a few days when both flowers are fully mature

Yep, I see them now and GOOD GRIEF they're amazing. I can only imagine how good they smell! What a great coerulea - flat lip, good shape, concentrated color - and that 4N tipo is wild. I'm jealous, hah!!

Ok here is a side by side!

Clearly the 4n is quite a bit larger and the stiffness of the flower causes it to be held and shaped differently.

The coerulea is a bit cupped but im no judge, and i think the form is elegant and color contrast is really beautiful.

As far as i can tell they smell exactly the same but the 4n seems a bit stronger. Perhaps its the genome but it may just be because there are more flowers. Either way, you catch wiffs of these plants anywhere in the house.

These plants are maturing quickly so next year we may start to see the tigrina style clusters of flowers. I wont be too suprised if the 4n has 10 flowers next year and that will be quite a spectacle!

I think i may have let my little display dry out a little too much, but both of these started to fade after about 2 weeks. Perhaps that's normal.

Anyways, in the last days of this tipo, the spots dissapear and the petals/sepals flush very uniform red which is pretty cool. This photo is pretty far gone but you get the idea of the color
