Cattleya leopoldii peloric

Here are the first blooms on Cattleya leopoldii (‘Dark Prince‘ x peloric ‘Miranda Iris‘) from Mr. Miranda. I got it 2.5 years ago as a small seedling, and it finally bloomed!

I grow it indoors in bark, and it seems to really hate being in the pot. Nearly all the roots escape the pot and just dangle out. It's very hard to manage haha...

The two blooms came out a little bit differently, which I guess isn't too surprising for a first bloom. One has more spots while the other one has a nice gradation from white to pink (I like that one more...).

The blooms have a pleasant sweet floral fragrance that's not overpowering.

Really love the pelorism, it is so special on this species - I might even make the space to grow one like this someday! Every time I see someone else’s plants with roots everywhere it makes me feel better about mine...I can only laugh at some of the roots I have outside the pots at this point.

I think the "trilabelo" on the bifoliates are quite nice. The roots... meh. It is everywhere.
