Jeff, I'm not sure what makes it a variety OsmaniI (or, well, what that even means, if anything). The grower in Texas who I bought it from had that bit of information on the label, so I've just kept it.

I was curious about this, too, so I found this old Waldor link that explained it a bit. Apparently it's a clone named after the grower of the variety - it's an heirloom, and a darn good one!
