I got a nice one two years ago. It bloomed last year and is coming into bloom now. It didn’t bloom all at once last year so it wasn’t very showy. Since it’s just starting this year we’ll see. It’s a very nice sized clump but nothing like yours. It’s grown in high light and has dark leaves. I’m not up early enough to notice the scent. Lol How is yours planted? Mine is in a plastic Basket within another plastic pot. When I looked at it a few weeks ago there were only roots in the pot. No medium. I just left it because it had so many buds. You have a lovely plant. Nice growing! 🌱😊

A magnificent specimen! I showed it to mine, to inspire it... Mine is just tied to a stick (no medium). So harsh environment, it does grow well. I know that these really need to dry out between waterings, mounted better than potted for those who can maintain a mounted plant.

Makes me wonder about why mine is in a pot of Sphagnum...

If the sphagnum is allowed to dry between waterings, it will be fine. (Sphag is not inherently any wetter than anything else, it just holds more water for longer... one can compensate with adjusting watering frequency and airflow, depending on humidity) I have had bad luck with the genus in pots, but then I am a ham-handed waterer. And I am set up for mounted plants.

Mine came in tightly packed sphagnum and is doing great, producing lots of roots and now sending out new growths. It's doing better than my previous one, which was mounted (I have so much trouble with mounts...) It's doing so well that I'll probably report it exactly the same way once the sphag needs changing.

I did take a close sniff of the only fully open flower this afternoon and it does have a lovely scent.

How do you get your photos to turn the right way?

It is mounted on a plastic mesh filled with dish wash scrubbing pads and chunks of pumice and volcanic rocks. A carpet of moss is growing along with it (I did not plant it though...it just came and grew...) and it seems that they both benefit from each other so I am leaving them as they are...the moss appears to be keeping the moisture on the mount and protects the roots from drying while taking some of the nutrients.

Oh, by the way, before uploading I open the photos with image editors (even simple tool as MS Paint can do the trick), resize them to reduce the size and save as another jpg file. This way I can ensure that the photos are correctly turned in the right way when uploading.

Thanks for the tip about the fragrance! This morning I went to smell my plant when I got up to get ready for work, so around 6:30. It smells amazing!

I thought that there was no fragrance since last year I went to sniff it only on weekends, and I get up much later (8 am or later)
