Default my monn. millenium is blooming!! also some questions

Wahoo the blooms are begining to open fully!
It has lost all of its leaves so when this finishes blooming and the blooms fall off winter rest has begun.

So I take it out of the potting media and place it in a empty orchid pot and leave it alone until new growth begins in late winter early spring? Like 3 or more new roots 3in long etc...

Also I finally won one of my catasetums I have bid on 5 times and was always out bid on...it is species Sanguiem Patrick it looks like it has a face in with a veil around his face. It is also already in winter rest by the look of the picture.

Yes, no leafs no water, I would let it stay in the pot for the rest period, you can rinse it with water without fertilizer for the last time since it has no leaf.
When new growth appear give it some new potting media and wait until roots are 2-3in long then slowly begin watering.

I leaved my FDK in the compost during all winter until new growths appear. Then I cut all the old (and dead) roots at 1-2 cm (1 inch) and repotted in new medium. First some spray on the little roots then full water.

Kindra it is amazing, thanks for posting it, little said I killed my two spikes on this gorgeous orchid but more to look forward to next year. I will leave mine in the pot, mine has still so many leaves that it is not definitely ready for the rest yet!
