Default Catasetum Hat Trick 'Oh Yeah'

Division of one of SVO's holdovers, so I don't have the original tag. From their archives I believe it is SVO 5685 (Ctsm. Jose Abalo 'SVO' x Ctsm. fimbriatum v. morrenianum 'SVO'). Softly fragrant, kind of mild citrusy / spicy. Not as many flowers on the winter bloom spike but the flowers are quite large.

Looks cool! Any chance you have a photo in sunlight? Camera flash never does orchid flowers any favors.

definitely, the color varies quite a bit depending on time of day and location. It is really a deep cherry red, but being a second-rate (or third/fourth-rate) photographer, indoors it looks blackish. I brought it to a show table and people kept commenting on the "black" flowers.

this is outside today in the sunshine, braving 30F for a few minutes
