I got the Ctsm. ivanae, Cyc. pentadactylon, and the Cyc. NEW HYBRID (Cyc. Jean E. Monnier 'Dark Swan' x Cyc. Dark Swan 'Black Swan'). Should be some cool ones!

I got a response that they would be going out next week. I think last year it was 2 day shipping. So hopefully they arrive by like Wednesday next week.
I picked up the Gal Greenwoodiana last year. It was a good one, bloomed for months straight and is the first this year to start out of all my catasetums.

I told myself I was going to show restraint and wait since I’d be going on vacation and the order might not arrive before I left and since there will be a second offering in August.
But then I saw the Ctsm ivanae and knew it would for sure sell out. And at that point I’ve already paid for shipping, so might as well get my money’s worth for the shipping price. 🤷🏻*♀️ 😆 I also picked up the Cyc. Dark Swan hybrid for a chance at an almost black cycnoches.

I just started growing catasetum fall of 2020. WOW, how time flies. I got one to bloom (barely) in 2021, and then they barely survived my culture in 2022... complete with spider mites which I'd never battled before. Scary stuff.
Can't wait to see what y'all are capable of blooming in the upcoming year or two. Meanwhile, think I'd better wait until I get a few blooms before expanding, no matter how much I'd like to. Definitely don't have the hang of these for some reason.

with all this interest in catasetums, we should start up a backbulb/division exchange forum or thread or something!

I was just thinking the same when I read the part of Fred’s email that said the August offering would be huge.

100%. I know some of the members who have been collecting for a considerable amount of time have some cool stuff that isn’t widely available anymore.

i am in for a trade session
i do not deserve new plants right now...i was looking at the sad state of my catasetum bench last night as i was working on something else next to it and i realize that i killed at least one i ignore them until i see spikes basically but one of my plastic reserviors cracked so Barnabas Collins was BONE DRY....not a joke even though it is funy...i hope it is not actually gone as three of the pbulbs were paper but one had a little substance....
moral of my story is i am going to go hard at my cata mounting project and get the 12-15 i still have to do set up and then i can get more
hahaha
i cannot wait to see some of these

You should take before and after pics! I bet it bounces back. They're pretty forgiving of neglect!
