Awesome plants! Don't think I caught if you mentioned it already, but what's your growing medium? I see you have them sitting in trays of water, but curious about your other growing conditions.

For these guys and only these genus I have SOME organic material in my ordinary mix which is lava rock (big) charcoal, Leca, #4 perlite and occasionally just normal rocks.

I use high walled saucers with a drain hole added by me for the reservoir and the organic material is anything around…bark, grass clippings, leaf litter, compost, mulch, I have used all of these

I keep them in water all the time unless they start to drop leaves( does not happen every year) and if that occurs, I just remove the pot from the saucer and place it on the top shelf of this rack where less ( but still some ) rain will hit it

I am not not not not the traditional culture so please don’t copy me unless you are one of my neighbors (if so, c’mon over and I’ll give you a bucket of mix!)

I am just devastated. It got so hot here, quite a few days right around 100. I don't know if that is why or not, but the buds on my Stan tigrina 'the predator' blasted. It only had two, but I've never seen it bloom before and I was sooooooo excited. Now I'm heartbroken. Gonna have to wait a whole nother year.

Oh, that is sad! Keep it wet, hopefully it'll bulk up so that next year you get more spikes, improving the odds. Believe me, this one is worth waiting for!

I watered it every day, sometimes twice a day when it was really hot. I was careful not to give it too much sun. I felt like I was doing everything right, and then when those buds started poking out of the bottom of the basket, I was just elated.

I've had a year, and I bought after the blooming season was already over last year, so I didn't get to see it bloom then, so I was so excited to finally see the blooms after I waited a whole year. I was truly heartbroken when the buds died. I've had plants with buds that blasted, but none of them have ever broken my heart as badly as these did when they died. I was so excited, I just couldn't believe it was actually happening. Again, I was truly, deeply devastated. I'm still not over it.
